Overview:
Product Marketing /Inside Sales Manager Water Heater position- is responsible for the end-to-end product support & inside sales support for the category leadership of Midea’s water heater products including tank, tankless, gas, electric and heat pump water heater within the U.S. market.
This role serves as the commercial and technical authority for assigned categories, including product strategy, positioning, pricing, lifecycle management, and channel alignment. Working closely with customers ensuring order accuracy, provide support at the critical point of the sales and cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, Quality, and global factory teams, the role drives market share growth, profitable revenue expansion, and successful new product introduction and ensures sales through strong customers relationship as inside support.
Key Responsibilities:
Category & Business Ownership
· Inside sales interaction with customer and internal stakeholders, P&L-influenced performance for water heaters, including revenue, pricing, volume, product mix, margin, and inventory management.
· Establish strong and lasting relationships with customers and water heater product team members in both the USA and China.
· Achieve targeted revenue, pricing, and quantity objectives while managing expense ratios and maintaining appropriate inventory turns.
· Monitor category performance using KPIs and dashboards including profits, sales, inventory; proactively identify risks and growth opportunities.
Product Strategy & Planning
· Lead U.S.-specific product planning and lineup strategy aligned with global platforms and local market requirements.
· Partner with R&D, Design, Quality, and global HQ to identify new product development opportunities.
· Develop product positioning, value propositions, and pricing strategies by segment and channel.
Market Intelligence & Product Expertise
· Serve as the primary product knowledge authority for Water Heater Sales, Marketing, and customers.
· Act as the internal segment expert on industry trends, regulatory standards, competitive activity, and pricing dynamics.
· Translate customer feedback and market insights into actionable strategies.
Go-to-Market & Product Launch Leadership
· Lead new product launches from concept to commercialization, market gathering product needs.
· Develop product briefs and drive execution with marketing communications and digital teams.
· Ensure readiness of all sales enablement, training, and launch materials.
Sales & Channel Support
· Support Water Heater sales teams with new product introductions and account expansion.
· Own category-specific product marketing and channel collateral development.
· Drive sell-through initiatives with distributors.
· Analyze value chain on specific products and quotes
Lifecycle & Forecast Management
· Manage full product lifecycle including launch, growth, and end-of-life transitions.
· Align PSI forecasts with Sales and Operations.
· Manage promotional budgets and inventory transitions.
· Conduct monthly sales forecast vs. budget to ensure sales accuracy and growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Develop and align cross-functional business plans and departments.
· Identify and implement process improvements.
· Coordinate U.S. technical requirements with HQ and R&D.
Required Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field required.
Experience
· Minimum 5+ years’ product management or product marketing experience, preferably water heating.
· industry experience required ( Rheem, AO Smith, Bradford White or similar).
· Hospitality and related vertical industry experience a plus.
Skills
· Strong strategic and analytical skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
· Ability to lead cross-functionally without direct authority.
Work Environment
· Office-based with warehouse exposure as needed.
· May lift up to 50 pounds.
· Extended periods of desk work.
Travel
· Domestic and international travel as required.
